Community Science for Sustainability: Call for Communities is Open!
We at Future Earth Australia have opened our Call for Communities for our Community Science for Sustainability program (supported by AGU’s Thriving Earth Exchange).
Community science is the process by which scientists and communities do science together to advance one or more community priorities. It encourages communities, particularly historically marginalised communities, to guide, participate in, learn from, and benefit from science.
Through this call, we are seeking interest from community groups, organisations and not-profit groups to partner on a research project.
Communities selected from this call will work collaboratively with Future Earth Australia and selected scientists to design, develop and execute their community science project. Projects are undertaken free of charge to your community and generally run for between 6-18 months.
This is a great opportunity to:
- Have a pro-bono community scientist work with you to address your community's top sustainability priority
- Have Future Earth Australia handle the planning and development of your community science project for you
- Collaborate directly with community scientists to develop impactful tools and solutions that work for your community.
The Call for Communities closes on 26 June 2020. For all the information, eligibility criteria and how to apply, please visit https://www.futureearth.org.au/initiatives/community-science-sustainability. Any queries can be made to Eleanor Robson (project lead) at eleanor.robson@science.org.au
